As part of an
\nongoing specialized training program to qualify professionals in the field of
\nfamily counseling, Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hosted the
\n12th Marriage and Family Counseling Course under the theme \u201cPersonal and
\nProfessional Development\u201d from December 26 to 28. The course was organized by
\nthe Department of Religious Affairs at the Presidency of the Islamic Community
\nin Bosnia and Herzegovina.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Enhancing Skills and Standardizing Professional Practices<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

This 12th course is
\npart of a planned series aimed at qualifying supervisors and family counseling
\nteams working within the local councils of the Islamic Community across
\ndifferent cities, contributing to the standardization of professional practices
\nand the exchange of experiences among participants.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The course was
\norganized in cooperation with the World Muslim Youth Organization and the
\nCenter for Personal and Professional Development, reflecting an integrated
\ninstitutional effort to support families and promote social stability.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A Comprehensive Program Combining Theory and Practice<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The program included
\na series of lectures and interactive workshops that combined theoretical
\npresentations with practical applications, aiming to develop participants\u2019
\nskills both personally and professionally, positively impacting the quality of
\ncounseling services provided to families.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\nreceived specialized presentations on marriage and family issues, leadership,
\nsocial capital, and time management, with a focus on practical tools for
\ncounseling work. They also attended lectures on self-protection while
\nmaintaining professionalism, along with a set of practical guidelines based on
\nparticipants\u2019 experiences and field challenges. The course also covered topics
\non personal and professional development tools, effective professional
\ncommunication, enhancing institutional performance, and building cohesive work
\nteams, all delivered by field experts.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The organizers
\nemphasized the importance of continuous investment in human resources,
\nhighlighting the tangible results achieved over five years of family counseling
\ncenters\u2019 operations from 2020 to 2025. They noted the annual growth in the
\nnumber of counseling centers affiliated with local Islamic councils, which
\nprovide free advisory services and professional support to community members.
\nUpcoming annual reports are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of
\nactivities and the number of sessions conducted in 2025.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\nunanimously agreed that this training model, combining theoretical lectures
\nwith practical workshops, is more effective than traditional seminars, as it
\noffers practical tools and field techniques that contribute to improving the
\nquality of family counseling work on the ground.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
