Dr. Fadl Murad, Professor of
\nJurisprudence and Contemporary Issues at the College of Sharia at the
\nUniversity of Qatar, presented a reflective reading of the short surahs,
\nemphasizing that they encapsulate the fundamental principles of faith, ethics,
\nand legislation, and establish a comprehensive Quranic framework for building
\nthe individual and society.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

During his appearance on the
\nprogram \u201cDays of God\u201d on Al Jazeera Mubasher, Murad took viewers on a
\ncontemplative journey into the world of the short surahs, revealing their
\ndoctrinal, legislative, and educational dimensions. He stressed that they
\nrepresent major summaries of Islamic law and are not merely brief chapters
\nmeant for easy memorization and recitation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He pointed to a significant
\nQuranic observation: half of the Quran\u2019s surahs are located in the last three
\nsections, from Surah \u201cQad Sami\u2019a\u201d to Surah \u201cAn-Nas.\u201d He explained that this
\ndistribution is not arbitrary but carries a clear legislative and methodological
\nsignificance, as these sections encompass the core principles of Islamic
\nlaw\u2014ranging from financial and social regulations to family relations,
\nalongside the reinforcement of faith, ethics, and the human connection to the
\nhereafter.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Murad clarified that the section
\nof \u201cTabarak\u201d focuses on matters of faith and ethics, while the section of
\n\u201cAmma\u201d intensively addresses themes of the afterlife, with nearly every surah
\ncontaining references to accountability, resurrection, and recompense. This, he
\nnoted, makes these surahs an enduring argument and proof for all people,
\nregardless of their level of knowledge.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Section of
\n\u201cAmma\u201d as a Universal Proof<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Murad cited recommendations from
\nscholars and preachers, including Ahmad Yassin, who encouraged teaching
\nchildren the section of \u201cAmma\u201d due to its comprehensive values in faith,
\nethics, and social solidarity. He affirmed that those who regularly recite these
\nsurahs cannot claim ignorance of the essence of the message.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Regarding the relationship with
\nthe Quran during Ramadan, he stressed that engagement with it should involve
\nmultiple dimensions: recitation, study, prayer, and reflection. He explained
\nthat recitation itself is a profound act of worship, and increasing it during
\nRamadan aligns with the practice of the early generations of Muslims.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He also cautioned against the
\nmisconception that prioritizing the quantity of Quranic completions over
\nreflection diminishes the Quran\u2019s purpose. He emphasized that reflection has
\nvarying levels\u2014ordinary believers are not required to engage in scholarly or
\njurisprudential analysis but should focus on contemplating the spiritual
