\n2, 2026 \u2014 As part of official and institutional efforts aimed at advancing
\nIslamic education and enhancing its educational and pedagogical roles, an
\nexpanded meeting was held on Friday in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, with
\nthe participation of 272 religious and government leaders to discuss the
\ncurrent state of Islamic education in Cambodia and prospects for its
\ndevelopment.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Developing
\nIslamic Education<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The meeting was held
\nin the Grand Hall of the Phnom Penh Islamic Center and was organized by the
\nAssociation of Khmer Muslim Teachers. Discussions focused on six main
\npillars:<\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

1.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assessing the current state of Islamic education in
\nCambodia and diagnosing the conditions of educational institutions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

2.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Identifying the educational and administrative
\nchallenges facing these institutions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

3.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Developing educational curricula in a way that
\nbalances Islamic authenticity with the requirements of the modern era.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

4.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Qualifying educational personnel and enhancing their
\nprofessional and teaching competencies.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

5.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Improving the educational environment and ensuring
\nstability and quality within institutions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

6.      <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strengthening institutional coordination between
\nIslamic bodies and official authorities to ensure high-quality Islamic
\neducation that keeps pace with contemporary developments while preserving
\nreligious fundamentals.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The Importance
\nof Islamic Education in Building Individuals and Identity<\/span><\/b><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The meeting was
\nchaired by Dr. Ousman Hassan, Minister of State in charge and Chairman of the
\nBoard of the Association of Khmer Muslim Teachers, who emphasized in his speech
\nthat Islamic education represents a fundamental pillar in building individuals
\nand preserving religious identity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He stressed the
\nnecessity of unifying the efforts of the state, educational institutions,
\nreligious and community organizations to ensure the development of Islamic
\neducation on sustainable institutional foundations.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting
\nwitnessed notable participation from various official and educational levels, including:<\/u><\/b><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nrepresentation underscores the importance of Islamic education at the national

Strengthening

The meeting comes
\namid growing interest by the state and Islamic institutions in strengthening
