The Jerusalem and Palestine
\nCommittee of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), together with
\nthe Union\u2019s Malaysian branch, organized the 2026 Asia-Pacific Scholars Forum
\nunder the theme \u201cA Call from Paradise\u201d. The two-day event was held from
\nFebruary 3 to 4 at the Royal Park Hotel at UNITEN University, with wide
\nparticipation from scholars, preachers, intellectuals, and leaders of religious
\ninstitutions, alongside academics and representatives of civil society
\norganizations from Asia-Pacific countries.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum was attended by His
\nExcellency the Malaysian Minister of Religious Affairs, Dr. Zulkifli Hassan;
\nDeputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Mr. Syed
\nIbrahim Syed Noah; the Head of the Malaysian Parliamentary Coalition for
\nPalestine; as well as Dr. Salem Saqqaf Al-Jaafri, Vice President of the
\nInternational Union of Muslim Scholars; Dr. Marwan Abu Ras, Chairman of the
\nJerusalem Committee; Dr. Wan Sabki, Head of the Union\u2019s Malaysian branch; and a
\nnumber of leading scholars and preachers.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum aimed to strengthen
\nthe institutional role of scholars in addressing contemporary challenges and to
\nunify scholarly and intellectual efforts in defending just causes, particularly
\nthe Palestinian cause, through legal, humanitarian, digital, environmental, and
\neconomic approaches.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The forum concluded with a final
\nstatement affirming that supporting Palestine is a legal, ethical, and
\nhumanitarian duty, and that the Palestinian cause represents a global ethical
\ntest, especially in light of contemporary media and digital transformations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

It was also agreed to establish
\nan official communication group comprising scholars and participants to enhance
\ncontinuous engagement, as well as a follow-up committee to ensure
\nimplementation of the forum\u2019s outcomes and sustainable action plans after the
\nevent.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants emphasized that the
\nforum represents a foundational platform for joint scholarly work, aiming to
\nactivate the role of scholars, strengthen their institutional presence, and
\ntranslate legal and ethical positions into sustainable programs in support of
\nPalestine and the broader causes of the Muslim Ummah and humanity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
