The Supreme Judicial Council, in
\ncollaboration with Qatar University, celebrated in Doha the graduation of the
\nfirst cohort of the Professional Diploma in Family Mediation. The program
\nincluded twenty family mediators who successfully completed an accredited
\ntraining course combining both theoretical and practical components, supervised
\nby the University\u2019s Community Service and Continuing Education Center, and led
\nby Dr. Salem Al-Sheikhi, Advisor at the College of Sharia.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The graduation marks the
\nculmination of the diploma, which was launched in November 2025, featuring a
\ncomprehensive academic and practical curriculum designed to equip participants
\nwith advanced skills in managing and resolving family disputes in accordance
\nwith the latest professional practices.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A
\nComprehensive Vision for Enhancing Family Stability<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Dr. Salem
\nAl-Sheikhi, member of the Board of Trustees of the International Union of
\nMuslim Scholars, emphasized that the diploma is part of the strategic vision of
\nthe College of Sharia, under the leadership of Dean Dr. Ibrahim Al-Ansari,
\naimed at strengthening integration and partnership between academic
\ninstitutions and state entities, in line with Qatar\u2019s Third National
\nDevelopment Strategy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

He explained that the college
\nhas launched a holistic approach to support family stability through three
\ninterconnected initiatives:<\/o:p><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nProfessional Diploma in Family Mediation and Reconciliation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\nInternational Conference on the Islamic Charter for Family Mediation, scheduled
\nfor November, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Development and
\nFamily, the Supreme Judicial Council, and the College of Law at Qatar
\nUniversity, aiming to establish a professional and ethical framework for family
\nmediation at local, regional, and international levels.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7     <\/span><\/span><\/span>The
\n\u201cMarital Life Charter\u201d course for couples preparing for marriage, based on the
\nprinciple of early preventive education and building a healthy family before
\naddressing potential crises.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Sheikhi highlighted that
\nthe diploma is distinguished by its practical approach, encompassing 60
\ntraining hours, with over 65% dedicated to practical application. The program
\nproduced specialized working papers and a graduation project entitled: \u201cProcedural
\nGuide for a Successful Family Mediation Model\u201d, which will be submitted to the
\nFamily Reform Office at the Family Court as a practical reference to support
\ninstitutional performance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A
\nStrategic Step in Developing National Expertise<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The program represents a
\nstrategic step in preparing qualified national cadres in family mediation,
\ncapable of handling disputes using modern and effective methods. This aligns
\nwith the Supreme Judicial Council\u2019s approach of prioritizing restorative justice
\nbefore litigation and supports the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 in
\nenhancing social cohesion and protecting family integrity.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Organizers affirmed that the
\nprogram serves as a cornerstone for improving the quality of work at the Family
\nCourt and increasing the competence of personnel in applying reconciliation
\nstrategies, mitigating the social and psychological impact of family disputes,
\nparticularly on children. They also noted that the diploma is academically
\naccredited and offered regularly each semester to train new cohorts of
\nmediators.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A
\nSignificant Addition to the Family Mediation System<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The Supreme Judicial Council
\nstressed that the graduation of this cohort represents a qualitative addition
\nto Qatar\u2019s family mediation system by preparing accredited mediators to work at
\nthe Family Court and the Family Reconciliation Office, providing advanced
\namicable alternatives for dispute resolution outside the litigation process,
\nthereby promoting family stability and societal balance.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
