It came as an<br \/>\nattempt to recover the financial rights of the Muhajirun (the emigrants) after<br \/>\nthe Quraysh had confiscated their properties in Mecca. It also aimed to exert<br \/>\npressure on the Meccan economy and disrupt the trade route between Mecca and<br \/>\nthe Levant.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:20.0pt;\nline-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Sakkal Majalla&quot;\">The battle clearly demonstrated<br \/>\nthe principle of military consultation (shura). The Prophet Muhammad <span lang=\"AR-SA\" dir=\"RTL\">\ufdfa<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span> changed the army\u2019s position following the<br \/>\nadvice of the companion Hubab ibn al-Mundhir to gain control of the water<br \/>\nwells. A command shelter (arish) was also built based on the suggestion of Saad<br \/>\nibn Muadh. During the confrontation, divine support descended to strengthen the<br \/>\nbelievers\u2019 hearts, and the battle ended with the killing of several prominent<br \/>\nQuraysh leaders who had spearheaded opposition to the Islamic call.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"center\" style=\"text-align:center\"><b><span style=\"font-size:20.0pt;line-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Sakkal Majalla&quot;;\ncolor:#002060\">The Death of Ruqayyah, the Prophet\u2019s Daughter \u2013 Joy of Victory<br \/>\nMixed with Grief<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:20.0pt;\nline-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Sakkal Majalla&quot;\">While Medina awaited news of<br \/>\nvictory at Badr, Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad <span lang=\"AR-SA\" dir=\"RTL\">\ufdfa<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span>, known as \u201cthe one of the two migrations,\u201d<br \/>\nwas passing away. The Artuqids departed<br \/>\ntoward Diyarbakir in northern Syria, and the name of the Fatimid Caliph<br \/>\nAl-Musta&#8217;li <span lang=\"AR-SA\" dir=\"RTL\">\u0628\u0627\u0644\u0644\u0647<\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span><span dir=\"LTR\"><\/span> was once again<br \/>\nmentioned in the Friday sermon at Al-Aqsa Mosque after a long absence.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-size:20.0pt;\nline-height:115%;font-family:&quot;Sakkal Majalla&quot;\">Despite the apparent brilliance<br \/>\nof this victory, historians consider it a strategic defeat, as the expulsion of<br \/>\nthe Artuqids deepened political divisions within the Muslim world.
