RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA): Three Palestinians were injured Monday in an attack by Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli media. Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers killed, on Monday evening, a Palestinian from Qalandia refugee camp, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.<\/p>\n
Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said settlers affiliated with a radical Jewish organization threw stones at the cars of Palestinians in the village of Hawara near the city of Nablus, smashed their windows and attacked shops, causing property damage.<\/p>\n
The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (KAN) reported that a 3-year-old child was among those injured in the attacks.<\/p>\n
Israeli Public Security Minister Omer Barlev on Sunday described settler attacks against Palestinians as “actions of a terror organization.”<\/p>\n
Barlev was referring to settler assaults Friday against activists near Burin village in the occupied West Bank where 10 activists were injured, including four Israelis.<\/p>\n
In recent months, settlers across the occupied territories have stepped up attacks against Palestinians and their properties which were committed under the watch of Israeli forces.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, according to imemc.org, Israeli soldiers killed, on Monday evening, a Palestinian man from Qalandia refugee camp, north of the occupied capital, Jerusalem, in the West Bank.<\/p>\n
Medical sources said the soldiers invaded the refugee camp and fired a barrage of gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at Palestinians who protested the invasion, in addition to a clinic, and many surrounding homes.<\/p>\n
The soldiers also invaded and ransacked several homes and shops in the area, causing damage.<\/p>\n
They added that a man, identified as Fahmi Abdul-Rauf Hamad, 57, suffered the severe effects of tear gas inhalation while inside a clinic run by UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) along with many other patients who also were injured by the gas bombs.<\/p>\n
The sources stated that Palestinian medics tried to resuscitate the injured man and rushed him to a hospital in Ramallah, but he succumbed to his wounds.<\/p>\n
Israeli and Palestinian estimates indicate there are about 650,000 illegal settlers living in 164 settlements and 116 outposts in the West Bank, including in occupied Jerusalem.<\/p>\n
Under international law, all Jewish settlements in occupied territories are considered illegal.<\/p>\n
