{"id":58283,"date":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iumsonline.cloud\/2022\/11\/01\/somalia-100-killed-in-mogadishu-car-bombs\/"},"modified":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T00:00:00","slug":"somalia-100-killed-in-mogadishu-car-bombs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iumsonline.cloud\/en\/2022\/11\/01\/somalia-100-killed-in-mogadishu-car-bombs\/","title":{"rendered":"Somalia: 100 killed in Mogadishu car bombs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>London (Agencies): At least 100 people were killed in explosions in Somalia&rsquo;s capital Mogadishu on Saturday, according to news agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The al-Qaida linked group al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the attack on their radio station Andalus.<\/p>\n<p>President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud said more than 300 were injured in the terrorist attacks after he visited the site of the blast, according to Somalia National News Agency (SONNA).<\/p>\n<p>He pointed out that fatalities could rise. &ldquo;We will defeat and we already defeated this radical group,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Our people who were massacred &hellip; included mothers with their children in their arms, fathers who had medical conditions, students who were sent to study, businessmen who were struggling with the lives of their families,&rdquo; President added.<\/p>\n<p>Two separate attacks carried by terrorists with bomb-laden vehicles at the Somali Ministry of Education left scores of casualties Saturday at a busy intersection in Mogadishu. The second attack happened as ambulances arrived to help the injured.<\/p>\n<p>No one has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks.<\/p>\n<p>The attack took place at the same place as Somalia&rsquo;s largest bombing, which killed more than 500, in the same month in 2017.
