{"id":58099,"date":"2024-08-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2024-08-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iumsonline.cloud\/2024\/08\/07\/sinwar-named-new-hamas-leader\/"},"modified":"2024-08-07T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2024-08-07T00:00:00","slug":"sinwar-named-new-hamas-leader","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iumsonline.cloud\/en\/2024\/08\/07\/sinwar-named-new-hamas-leader\/","title":{"rendered":"Sinwar named new Hamas leader"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hamas on Tuesday named Yahya Sinwar as its new political bureau chairman, replacing Ismail Haneyya who was assassinated in Tehran last week.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">The Hamas Movement announced in a terse statement that Sinwar, who was its leader in Gaza, would replace Haneyya as the supreme leader of the Movement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">Since 2017, Sinwar has served as the Movement\u2019s leader in the Gaza Strip.
