Syria: Massive Demonstrations Condemn the Genocide and Siege in
\nGaza and Denounce Targeting of Journalists<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

On
\nMonday, several Syrian provinces witnessed massive popular demonstrations
\ncondemning the ongoing genocidal war waged by the Zionist occupation against
\nthe Gaza Strip and its deliberate targeting of Palestinian journalists.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nevents took place in the capital, Damascus, and the provinces of Hama, Homs,
\nAleppo, and Idlib, where participants raised Palestinian flags and chanted
\nslogans opposing the occupation. They carried banners bearing slogans such as
\n“Freedom for Gaza” and “Palestine Is Not Alone.”<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ndemonstrators called on the international community to take urgent action to
\nstop the aggression and the siege imposed on Gaza, affirming their full
\nsolidarity with the Palestinian people.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

In
\nDamascus, journalists organized a protest stand wearing protective vests to
\ndenounce the killing of their colleagues in Gaza and to commemorate journalists
\nwho were martyred as a result of the Zionist occupation\u2019s shelling of their
\ntent near Al-Shifa Hospital on Sunday evening.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A
\nsimilar demonstration took place in the city of Idlib, where journalists and
\nactivists participated, expressing their rejection of the targeting of
\nPalestinian media personnel.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nZionist occupation had committed a new massacre on Sunday evening, which
\nresulted in the martyrdom of six journalists, including four from Qatar\u2019s Al
\nJazeera channel: reporters Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqa, cameramen
\nIbrahim Zaher and Moamen Alawiya, in addition to their assistant Mohammed
\nNawfal, and Mohammed Al-Khalidi, who died on Monday morning due to his
\ninjuries.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Since
\nOctober 7, 2023, the Zionist occupation, with American support, has been
\ncommitting a genocide against the people of Gaza, involving killing, starving,
\ndestruction, and displacement, in disregard of international appeals and orders
\nfrom the International Court of Justice to halt these actions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

According
\nto statistics, these crimes have resulted in the martyrdom of more than 61,000
\nPalestinians and injuries to over 153,000, alongside more than 9,000 missing
\npersons, in addition to hundreds of thousands displaced and famine that has
\nclaimed many lives, including dozens of children.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
