Thousands of Italians Demonstrate in Support of Palestine and
\nFleets to Break the Gaza Blockade<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Around
\n15,000 people participated in a large demonstration in the city of Catania in
\nsouthern Italy, in support of Palestine and the Global Steadfastness Fleet,
\nwhich continues its journey toward Gaza for the fourth consecutive day with the
\naim of breaking the Zionist blockade on the Strip.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Protesters
\ngathered at the Port of Catania, the meeting point for boats joining the fleet
\nfrom Italy, before marching toward the city center, waving Palestinian flags
\nand holding banners with slogans supporting Palestine and the fleet, such as
\n\u201cFreedom for Palestine,\u201d \u201cStop the Genocide,\u201d and \u201cFrom the River to the Sea,
\nPalestine Will Be Free.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nphrase \u201cGaza, We Are Coming\u201d was displayed on a large screen in Federico di
\nSvevia Square at the conclusion of the event.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nGlobal Steadfastness Fleet continues its journey in the Mediterranean Sea after
\nabout 20 ships departed from the Port of Barcelona, Spain, last Sunday,
\nfollowed by another convoy from the Port of Genoa in northwestern Italy.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

A third
\nconvoy from Tunisia is expected to join next Sunday before continuing toward
\nGaza.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nfleet includes a coalition of international organizations, including the
\n\u201cFreedom Flotilla Coalition,\u201d the \u201cGlobal Gaza Movement,\u201d the \u201cSteadfastness
\nConvoy,\u201d and the Malaysian \u201cNusantara Steadfastness Organization.\u201d<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\nZionist occupation has imposed a blockade on the Gaza Strip for 18 years,
\nresulting in the loss of shelter for approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out
\nof 2.2 million after their homes were destroyed in the recent war.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Since
\nMarch 2, the occupation forces have closed all crossings into the Strip,
\npreventing the delivery of humanitarian aid, while recently allowing only very
\nlimited quantities that do not meet the minimum needs of the population, amid
\nongoing famine and attacks on aid trucks by gangs protected by the occupation,
\naccording to the Gaza Government Media Office.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
