Egyptian Activists and Politicians Call for Launch of \u201cFleet of
\nResilience\u201d to Break Gaza Blockade<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Egyptian
\nactivists and politicians yesterday, Saturday, called for the launch of the
\n“Egyptian Fleet of Resilience to Break the Gaza Blockade,” as part of
\na maritime convoy described as the largest in history, following the departure
\nof the global fleet from Spanish ports and the upcoming joining of the Maghreb
\nfleet from Tunisia next Wednesday.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ninitiative involves politicians, activists, students, and academics, and has
\nlaunched two registration forms: one for participants and another for the
\nfleet, which includes sea captains, mechanics, and technicians.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The
\ninitiative called on the President and relevant authorities to facilitate
\nprocedures and allow the fleet to depart from Egyptian ports.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Sources
\nwithin the organizing committee stated that communication is underway with both
\nthe international and Maghreb fleets to benefit from their expertise and
\nexperience, and to discuss technical needs and details.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\nin the “Global Fleet of Resilience” emphasized that the goal is not
\nmerely symbolic, but a practical step to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza and
\nsend a strong political message to the international community.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Algerian
\nMP Youssef Ajissa, Vice President of the Algerian Initiative in Support of
\nPalestine, described the purpose of dispatching dozens of ships as
\n“opening a maritime corridor to deliver humanitarian aid and halt Israel\u2019s
\nwar-by-starvation policies,” noting that the Israeli occupation has been
\ncommitting what he termed a “genocide” since 2006.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Meanwhile,
\nTurkish MP Najmuddin Caliskan, from the Felicity Party, stated that
\nparticipation aims to deliver a message of peace and end Israel\u2019s two-year-long
\nwar on Gaza. He clarified that the aid being transported might only suffice for
\none hour, but the main goal is to confront the unjust blockade and raise voices
\nagainst Israeli practices.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

His
\ncolleague, Mohamed Atmaja, added that while the civilian initiative may not
\ndirectly change occupation policies, it compels the international community to
\nassume its responsibilities.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants
\naffirmed that their determination to sail to Gaza remains steadfast despite
\nthreats from the occupation of arrest or killing.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
