\nReport: Muslims and Black People Face Systematic Housing Discrimination<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The National
\nObservatory on Discrimination and Racism, affiliated with the German
\ngovernment, has revealed the existence of systematic discrimination against
\nMuslims and Black residents in Germany concerning housing opportunities and
\nliving conditions<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

This was highlighted
\nin its latest report titled “Inequality in Living, Racism, and Housing
\nConditions,” presented at a press conference in Berlin on Monday<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the
\nreport, which was based on a survey of 9,512 participants, Muslims, Black
\npeople, and others with non-German backgrounds face more precarious housing
\nconditions compared to Germans and encounter repeated discrimination both when
\nsearching for housing and within their neighborhoods<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The report noted
\nthat individuals from these groups live in poorer and more challenging
\nenvironments and receive less stable rental contracts. It emphasized that these
\nexperiences are not isolated cases but reflect a widespread structural problem,
\nwhere economic conditions intersect with racial and ethnic backgrounds<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Tae Joon Kim,
\ncoordinator of the team that prepared the report, stressed that housing is a
\nfundamental human need that ensures protection, stability, and social
\nintegration. He added, “Housing in Germany is not only insufficient but
\nalso distributed inequitably<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.”<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the
\nsurvey results, nearly 50% of Muslims and Black people in Germany believe that
\ntheir chances of obtaining adequate housing are lower compared to others<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n
