\nAdvisory Council of Islamic Organizations, expressed deep concern over what it
\ndescribed as the “rapid and alarming deterioration” of the situation
\nfor Muslims in India, amid rising Islamophobia, violence, and systematic
\npersecution.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Systematic

In a press
\nstatement, the council warned of growing hate campaigns against Muslims in
\nseveral Indian states, emphasizing that recent developments indicate that
\nviolence and persecution are no longer isolated incidents but part of a
\nwidespread pattern fueled by extremist rhetoric, public incitement, and a lack
\nof legal accountability.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The statement
\nreferred to a series of documented incidents since October 2025, including
\nattacks linked to the so-called “cow protection” initiatives carried
\nout by armed groups. Among these was an alleged assault targeting cattle
\ntransporters in Jalna, Maharashtra, where mobs reportedly acted with impunity,
\nusing claims of cattle slaughter to justify violence and public humiliation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The council also
\nhighlighted the normalization of hate speech in public gatherings, noting that
\ninflammatory speeches delivered at religious and community events label Muslims
\nas “terrorists” and openly call for economic boycotts, contributing to
\nan overall climate of fear and insecurity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

MAPIM emphasized
\nthat economic marginalization has become a significant concern, pointing to
\ncampaigns portraying Muslim-owned businesses as “impure” or
\n“undesirable.” The council warned that such practices extend
\ndiscrimination into the everyday economic life of Muslims, citing the
\n“credit sticker” campaign during the Chhath Puja celebrations in New
\nDelhi as an example of persecution carried out through market pressure and
\nintimidation.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

Warning
\nAgainst Impunity<\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The statement noted
\nthat a monthly database of crimes committed against Muslims reveals a recurring
\npattern across various regions of India, reflecting \u2013 according to the council
\n\u2013 an urgent need for serious international attention. MAPIM warned that continued
\ninaction risks entrenching a culture of impunity.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

The council called
\nfor immediate international action, urging the Office of the United Nations
\nHigh Commissioner for Human Rights to intensify monitoring of hate crimes and
\npersecution in India. It also appealed to special rapporteurs on freedom of
\nreligion, minority issues, racism, and extrajudicial executions to cooperate
\nwith Indian authorities.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

MAPIM further called
\non the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to hold an emergency consultative
\nmeeting and establish an independent fact-finding mechanism. It also urged
\nASEAN countries to raise the issue through regional and bilateral diplomatic
\nchannels and take principled stances to protect minorities and initiate
\ntransparent investigations into hate crimes.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n

\nMalaysian Advisory Council of Islamic Organizations reaffirmed its full
\nsolidarity with Muslims in India, warning that “silence in the face of
